1. Who we are

Nihurumie Child Group Organization ("we", "us", "our") is a community-based organization registered in Tanzania (Reg. No. MCC/CD/CBO/113051), based in Nyegezi Ward, Mwanza, Tanzania. For any privacy question, contact us at nihurumiechildgroup@gmail.com.

2. What data we collect

• Donation form: name, email, donation amount and frequency.
• Contact form: name, email and your message.
• Technical data: basic, anonymized request data (IP, browser) used only for security and abuse prevention.

We do not collect or store payment card or bank account information. Donations are made directly by you through Western Union / KCB Bank.

3. Why we use your data

• Send you Western Union transfer instructions after a donation request.
• Confirm receipt of your donation and issue a thank-you / receipt.
• Respond to your contact messages.
• Occasionally share impact updates (only with your consent).

4. Legal basis

We process personal data under your consent (forms you fill in) and our legitimate interest in operating the organization, confirming donations and communicating with supporters. Where required by the EU GDPR, you may withdraw consent at any time.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers that help us operate this website and send transactional email (cloud hosting, database and email delivery). Bank/transfer details are processed by KCB Bank and Western Union under their own privacy terms.

6. International transfers

Our hosting and email providers may process data outside Tanzania or your country of residence. We rely on providers that offer adequate contractual safeguards.

7. Retention

• Donation records: up to 7 years for accounting and audit purposes.
• Contact form messages: up to 2 years after the last interaction.
• Newsletter / impact updates: until you unsubscribe.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct or update inaccurate data.
• Delete your data (where we are not required to keep it).
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

9. Unsubscribe

Every email we send contains an unsubscribe link. You can opt out of impact updates at any time without affecting donation receipts you may still need.

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Backend data is access-controlled and only authorized staff can read donor information. We do not store any banking or card credentials.

11. Children

Although our mission serves children, we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors through this website. Information about the children we support is shared only with appropriate consent from their guardians.

12. Cookies

We use only essential, technical cookies needed to run the site. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes. Significant changes will be communicated via email when appropriate.
